Weight a Minute: 03/07/11

Alright, I know I haven’t done one of these in ages, stop going on about it will you? Leave me alone.

Yeah, sorry for the lack of blogging. Having to do a shed load of writing in work combined with running low on ideas for these posts has hampered me somewhat recently, but I’m back and ready to write some words about losing weight – maybe the finger movements are worth a few calories, who knows?

Okay, so the big news is thus: Since we last spoke, I’ve lost two stone, and am a now a member of Club Ten. Unfortunately, this is nothing like the Mile High Club (Sorry Mum, sorry Nana, sorry anybody else who’s just had that awful image burned into their minds), but it does mean that I have now lost ten percent of my original body weight.

In fact, I’ve now lost 31.5lbs, which is 2 and a quarter stone, which leaves me at 19.15 stone, or 267.5lbs.

I’ve lost 9 pounds since my last blog, losing 5.5lbs and 3.5lbs respectively in the last two weeks.

So, on the subject of maths, here’s a few exciting ways of looking at my diet in numbers:

110,250 – The number of calories I have burned since starting this diet.

357 – The number of kilometres I have cycled on that damned exercise bike (based on a few averages)

245 – The number of Laughing Cow Extra Light cheese triangles I have eaten since I started the diet (Seriously, Laughing Cow; if you want to send me a case of the things for mentioning you, that’d be grand).

256.4 – The number of litres of Coca-Cola I would need to drink to put the weight back on.

4.5 – The average number of pounds I am losing per week.

5 – The number of times I have been “Slimmer of the Week” at Slimming World.

5 – The number of times I have been eligible to win “Slimmer of the Week” at Slimming World.

5 – The number of inches my waist has decreased by in the last 7 weeks.

19.45 – The largest number of Kilometres I have cycled in 30 minutes.

174 – The number of miles I will have to ride in order to complete Hadrian’s Cycleway next year.

Oh yeah, that. Myself and another idiot (And potentially, the idiot’s wife’s father) are planning on riding Hadrian’s Cycleway at some point in 2012.

For those of you who don’t know, Hadrian’s Cycleway runs from the shores of the Irish Sea to Newcastle upon Tyne, and is a three day trek that will take us past such interesting sights as Hexham County Bridge and Sellafield. It’s going to be a riot (of pain, I’d imagine).

Here’s the route, should that sort of thing interest you:

If I don’t die, I will be pleasantly surprised.

The other thing is this: I’ll be doing the ride for the British Heart Foundation, so expect me to be waving sponsor forms around at some point next year.

Oh, and my new target is 18.5 stone, or 257lbs. Targets will likely be stone by stone now, as that’s how I’m going to take this. I’m a heavy set chap, so I’m just going to keep going stone by stone until I’m happy with my size.

Well, I think that’s about it, other than the song for this week, which I have decided will be the mighty Fall of Troy – take it away, boys:

Summary (03/07/11):
Weight: 267.5lbs
Loss this week: 3.5lbs
Total weight loss: 31.5lbs
Distance to target: 10.5lbs
On target: Yes
Best distance in 30 mins on the bike: 19.45km
